Meet Koa

Ko·a - Polynesian origin meaning brave, bold, fearless, and warrior. Additionally, Native to Hawaii, the Acacia Koa is a species of flowering tree. With over a decade of experience in the beauty industry working in salons, freelance, studio and film work, it was time for Kiana to create a home base of her own. Koa was established in February 2022. Always having a strong connection with nature, when it came to choosing a name for her salon, the owner wanted something that embodied her passion for beauty and nature, while embodying the way she has flourished in the cosmetology world. With her name also having roots in Polynesian culture, it was pure kismet. Kiana can’t wait to welcome you to her salon that she is so proud of, let’s create the look of your dreams!

Meet Kiana

Kiana is a Southern California girl bringing the essence of Bohemian beach tousled hair to the desert of Scottsdale, Arizona. She specializes in natural, hand painted, lived-in hair color, deconstructed and visual hair cutting techniques to create a completely custom, one of a kind work of art, tailored for every client.

At the early age of 17, Kiana started her career in the beauty industry, after graduating from high school at just 16. Upon completion of cosmetology school at 18, she wasted no time and apprenticed under two different stylists, creating a dedicated clientele and worked from the bottom up to create a salon environment of her very own. Having over 10 years of experience behind the chair, Kiana thrives on making every person who sits in her chair look and feel their absolute best, striving for nothing less than perfection. Offering makeup services and lessons in the salon and on location for daily wear and special events. Additionally, Kiana is a preferred makeup artist for film and television talent, she held the hair and makeup contract for national television show, Right This Minute from 2010 through end of production in April 2022.

Regardless of being inside or outside her salon, Kiana is passionate about bringing life and love into everything that she does. Outside Koa, you can find her tending to her hundreds of indoor and outdoor plants, perfecting gluten-free recipes in the kitchen, and savoring every moment with her dog, Ghost, a Pomeranian-Husky mix, and her incredible significant other, Ryan.
