  • depending on your hair’s length, density, porosity, and how much color is currently existing in your hair currently, it can take anywhere between 2.5-6 hours. if you need to maintain your current look, appointments can take 2–4 hours, while full transformation sessions can take longer. if needed, longer appointments can be broken up into smaller sessions.

  • a glaze is a semi/demi permanent color that customizes your color to enhance or counteract tones we may encounter during your lifting process. everyone (even blondes) will naturally lift warm. most clients will need a glaze, not only to add or change the pigment, but to seal your cuticle after a highlight. a glaze is another great way to add full or partial pigment or dimension to babes with darker color that won’t grow out harshly, require maintenance or commitment, or any damage to the hair.

  • depending on how often you wash your hair, what kind of shampoo you are washing with, how often you are out in the sun can all play a factor in how long you can go in between your glaze appointments. they are recommended every 8–16 weeks, or whenever you need a color refresh that only takes 25 minutes at the shampoo bowl.

  • This will vary on your desired length and style. Short haircuts that are below the ear (clipper/scissor-over-comb methods), 3-8 weeks. Mid-length styles, 6-20 weeks, and long length styles 12-40 weeks.

  • For maintenance highlight appointments, every 8–16 weeks. For gray coverage, every 3–12 weeks. glazes, 8–16 weeks. Keratin smoothing clients, 12–20 weeks.

  • Very! Over half of Koa’s clientele has a variation of curl patterns and textures.

  • Yes! Koa has a retail section that is proud to carry Davines, K18, and Bosley products. Custom hair care regimes are curated for each client individually so that you can maintain nourishment and your color investment.

  • Koa Salon recommends only using a purple shampoo occasionally. A shampoo containing pigments designed to alter your color will layer with each use and create a build-up, causing your hair to actually appear darker. If you are feeling like your blonde is dull and flat, consider scheduling a refresh/blonde detox appointment.
